The Power of Nature
Do Gyun Kim
Purdue University / USA
Natural forces are more substantial than manufactured forces and brighten a better future. The future natural environment must be handed down more cleanly to our descendants. Through two objects, the power of nature was visualized, and through typography, dynamics were displayed to show a message. Through texture, typography visualizes nature's power, erasing artificial power. The color helps the visual message by emphasizing green, which is suitable for the concept.

Eun Ok Hwang
University Paris 1, Panthéon-Sorbonne / France
Through this window, I open myself to the world. Through it, I lock myself in the world. This eye-shaped window lives in my mind. Everything I feel emotions, fear, desire, and banality, remain in the eyes. A gaze is fixed on me, and my gaze is also fixed on him. These looks feed each other. They have become both my obsession and my artistic power. They help me visualize the strangeness in me.

Lingering Thoughts
Fabian Mora
RMIT University / Australia
Lingering Thoughts is a piece of art I made trying to express what it feels like when your mind is full of questions and worries you can’t answer right away. I was going through a confusing time with lots of thoughts and Ideas from life and work, and I wanted to show what that chaos feels like on the inside.
This artwork aims to show that inner mess, of the cognitive dissonance that arises when overwhelmed with unanswered questions and competing ideas. It’s like a snapshot of what happens in your head when you have so many questions and ideas that you wish you could sort out immediately but you can't. The piece invites viewers to think about their own unanswered questions, making them feel like they are not alone in all of that confusion.

Papilia: The Taste of Original
Hoang Van TruongVietnam
The logo of Papilia the Pasta House expresses the shape of a plate by making the shape of pasta into a line. The yellow color of pasta is used for the symbol, and yellow and orange are used for the text to represent pasta and tomato sauce. “Papilia” is a combination of Pasta + Pizza + Famiglia. So that people can immediately feel the feeling of Italy when they see the brand name, “lia” was added at the end to make it Italian. The yellow color of pasta is used for the symbol, and yellow and orange are used for the text to represent pasta and tomato sauce. Four guardians of the night in Montreal
Hyesun Ko Canada
In Buddhism, the Four Heavenly Kings are powerful deities who act as guardians of the world and protectors against evil. In South Korea, the four guardians are portrayed as warriors holding weapons that trample demons. Temples install their statues at the gates to protect the temple and evoke awe and respect. Each of them guards one of the cardinal points carrying weapons or symbolic objects. The guardian of the East always has a blue face and carries a pipa. The southern guardian bears a red surface and grips a sword in his hand. The Western guardian features a white countenance and is escorted by an Asian dragon and its magic pearl. Lastly, the guardian of the North possesses a black appearance and clutches a small stupa in his hand.At present, the four guardians of the night masquerade as urban wild animals, struggling to coexist with humans while showcasing significant modern symbolic objects before Montreal's inhabitants.Who would have thought that one day these starved, jeered, hunted, and killed creatures would metamorphose into the four divine gatekeepers at the pearly gates of paradise, as well as the arbitrators of humans' karma trying to cross it?

The Big Catch inspired by a Malaysian folk lore of ‘Ulek Mayang’, a story that has been interpreted into few genres; romance between human-spirit world, tragedy, and shamanism. The artwork also attempts to use the ‘batik painting’ concept as a mean of storytelling expression. The work has been incorporated with AR experience; an exploration of using Spark AR to allow viewers experiencing AR artworks through Instagram and FB filters, though in this case the QR code to view the AR is not included.

Rest in Cold
Norariffuddin Bin Abd Rahman
Malaysia
“Rest in Cold", is a pattern of repeating peony blooms in circles. Peony flowers are generally associated with romance, prosperity, good fortune, a happy marriage, riches, honor, and compassion, but the artist took a different approach by coloring the blossoms in dark blue to represent the gloominess and deep pondering that lead to sadness. This is to demonstrate the inverse of the positive meaning of brilliant, lovely peony blossoms. The hue chosen for this artwork represents profound sadness.

A Journey of Expression: Harmony & Disso-nance
Soo Hostetler
University of Northern Iowa / USA
We see type everywhere. One aspect of the remarkable power of presenting type is the expressions of their physical gestures that can function powerfully as rhythmic visual imagery not only as narrative communication. The power of typographic vis-ual communication is its ability to express unbounded dimensions of emotion that dialogue with the beautiful world we live in.
This design is one of 26 letterforms abstract designs in a series where this designer utilizes letterform to communicate experiences and emotions that have arisen in this designer’s life. The use of typography is the primary means of presenting ideas and messages for expressive communication in design. Each typeface has its own aes- thetic, expressive qualities, as evidenced by the visual attributes of its letterforms. Displaying type as a form provides a sense of the letterform's unique characteris-tics, abstract presentation and expressive quality. The title of the design, “A Journey of Expression: Harmony & Dissonance”, utilizes “V” letterform to represent a journey of experiences and expression of my life. My experiences and emotional sensibilities of life serve as the basis for the design of subjective and abstracted visual expres-sion that brings a wide range of circumstances to my surroundings.

Point, Line and Plane
Sooyun Im
California State Polytechnic University / USA
This series of compositions explores the geometric elements: Point, Line, Plane and their expressive qualities. These compositions are inspired by Kandinsky’s abstract paintings: The point which is the beginning of a shape, the line which has a direction, and the plane which creates a space, are the most basic building blocks of composition; everything else is made of these fundamental forms. Image, energy, rhythm, visual language, and emotional impact all begin with point, line, and plane. A mass of points forms a line and lines become planes. Line exhibits an immediate sense of intention and belief. The encounters between lines, planes, colors, textures, and geometric forms on an asymmetrical grid radiate energy from within. This compositional series is imbued with the power of point, line, and plane, combined with subjective effects created by their orientations and various formal qualities.

The first priority after an earthquake is to find survivors and get them out to provide medical care, and in a recent survey the optimal rescue time is 48 hours. After 48 hours, the survival rate decreases. Rescue missions are greatly hampered by the lack of information about the situation under the rubble and the possibility of secondary injuries at any time, under these circumstances. In the insect world, spiders have excellent crawling and climbing abilities, Mimic the shape of a rescue robot to that of a spider and add infrared scanning detection capabilities. There is a metal shell wrapped around the six legs of the Spider Robot to make it more solid when crawling in the mountainous areas, and a rotating axis at the turn of the legs to make it adaptable to crawling and detecting in all kinds of locations. North China University of Science and Technology/ China
It means that when it is quiet, it is like a gentle maiden, and when it moves, it is agile like a rabbit. When the army is not moving, it is calm and cautious, and it is like a running rabbit that moves quickly and vigorously. It can also be used to describe a person or thing. According to the meaning of the proverb, the original story is redrawn and presented as a cartoon on the poster.

The Ulleungdo Project is a project to create a virtual world of the Ulleungdo Nari Basin using Unity, a game engine. We first created the terrain with Unity's Terrain funtion, and then constructed the entire background using natural objects such as trees and grasses from Megascans. Insects, scarecrows, and Ulleungdo Neowajip was modeled in Maya, a 3D graphics program, and shaders were composed using Unity's URP render pipeline.

History is data on ‘other peoples' experiences'. By design, we can indirectly experience time and learn about the theories of designers' relevant approaches. We will be able to grasp what is to come tomorrow through design principles transcending time and space.Designers are at the center of pursuing aesthetics amidst changes in trends. Even though the boundaries of time and knowledge have expanded, designers should not be trapped by scalability. A designer in the era of the 4th industrial revolution could collaborate with AI to showcase creativity and innovation, leveraging their understanding and empathy for users.

Recently, the global community has faced extreme climatic shifts largely attributed to carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. This study visually represents the annual CO2 emissions of the top 20 nations from 2011 to 2020. The winged design of 'spirals' indicates temporal variations, with black-highlighted points marking peak emission years for each country. The chart also displays GDP and population data, while the circles linked to 'spirals' signify the respective year's average CO2 emissions.* This work was supported by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Korea and the National Research Foundation of Korea(NRF-2022S1A5A8052686)

A chair as a loose unity 01
김상규Sang-kyu Kim
Seoul National University of Science and Technology / Republic of Korea
Chairs are more than just things to sit on. Designers design chairs for each purpose, but sometimes chairs appear for a different reason. This chair is the result of assembling materials that existed for different purposes and then became obsolete for some reason. Even if it's just warped plywood and scrap wood, they provide a clue: the object has room for events to happen, so it's true that the essence of the object is the future. As Timothy Morton argues, objects are spatialized by other beings and around each object there is a potentially infinite progression to other objects.

Currently, the world communicates beyond time and space through digital networks, and the world of technology increasingly pursues humanity and longs for analog sensibility. Reminiscent of the memories of New York's Fifth Avenue at the end of the century, this work uses various analog tools such as watercolor paper, brushes, marker pens, and pencils to reinterpret the New Yorker style of Y2K sensibility into a Newtro style fashion illustration.

"Veggie Moon" is a third-person space shooter game developed as part of my Master's program at RMIT University. Planet Veggie is under threat from carnivorous alien species. Moon, Veggie's valiant warrior and heroine, combats these invaders while seeking a new vegetarian haven for her people. Unlike typical shooters focused on high scores through enemy kills, "Veggie Moon" promotes reaching the destination with minimal conflict, highlighting the life-respecting altruism of Veggie's denizens. The game's graphics meld vibrant colors and unique designs, enhancing player immersion. Inspired by contemporary ecological issues, it urges players to think critically about harmony and coexistence.

Crafted in delicate white silk, the dress serves as a canvas for exploring themes of harmony, unity, and tranquility. The chosen color white is not a mere aesthetic choice; it signifies the amalgamation of all colors, representing a unity that is both visual and conceptual. Beyond that, the hue embodies qualities of purity and peace, qualities that are universally sought yet rarely achieved. The fabric itself is another layer of artistic expression. The silk's delicate texture and subtle sheen work in tandem to elevate the themes the dress aims to portray. These physical characteristics of the silk not only add a tactile dimension to the concept but also amplify the notions of serenity and tranquility that are central to the piece.

Alternative Reality
김태호Tae Ho Kim
Kookmin University / Republic of Korea
Alternative Reality was produced under the theme of “New perspective: Beyond the Imagination” as a series of works. An image composed of numerous layers happens to be a single shape that creates an exceptional square by artistic experiments. The reason why the word 'alternative' is attracting attention again lies in the unintended phenomenon and influence caused by the alternative existence of AI. I think vision may have been the most familiar sense for accepting the existence of AI for a long time.

Hankyu Kim
Incheon National University / Republic of Korea
The ‘Wind Catcher’ is a small size multi-purpose facility which uses the wind to adjust the micro-climate of the building to decrease the energy consumption. The ‘wind controlling walls’ block the seasonal wind exclusively during winter while open towards the blowing direction during summer to attract the winds to inside the building. The building is formed linearly to catch enough wind and divided into three sections depending on the program. This independent facility can be strategically located along the Han riverside and may be used as convenience facilities, water taxi stops, etc.

This work is a public EV Carpark. By accepting the request of the city of Seoul, which wanted to become a symbol of an “energy self-sufficient village,” and the request of a solar power company, which demanded the efficiency and economic feasibility of solar power, a 400-meter-long public EV carpark was proposed. A third of the carpark is designed as a place where electric vehicles can be charged. Arduino sensor prevents general vehicles from parking at electric vehicle charging stations, and it also to prevent long-term parking by alarming to user when fully charged.
